The Omni Hotel Battery is a great place to flop down after enjoying a baseball game at the new home of the Atlanta Braves, Suntrust Park. It’s a very basic place; no frills, with an enviable location and affordable prices ($152/night for a king room).
The Room
Lodging in the King Room is pretty basic, with nice small touches here and there to spice up the experience. No alarm clock on the bedside table, a very small phone, and plenty of outlets – hidden well – line the wall and bedside tables. The bathroom is surprisingly large, complete with a shower/tub combo.
The decor is oddly dated for a hotel that opened in January of 2018, but the plaid and wood furnishings give the rooms and hallways a comfortable atmosphere – though they clash a bit with the chic and modern decor found on the lower floors near the meeting rooms and ballroom.
The Amenities
Here is where The Omni Battery really shines, as the hotel appears to be designed with socializing and entertaining in mind. Small seating areas interrupt the long corridors, and there are plenty of bar areas for patrons to pre-game before watching the Braves play at home.
The pool is a good size and offers up views of the stadium and The Battery itself, a collection of shops, nightclubs, and even a small park where families with kids gathered to play. The gym is small but superb, with hand towels on every piece of equipment and complimentary refreshment available.
Overall Impression
Don’t let the “luxury hotel” label on the website scare you away from checking out the place; the offerings were pretty standard and fitting for the middle of the road price point.
