Here’s a list of travel and lifestyle sites that are my first-look resources for everything from hotel deals to travel advice to international travel packages.
AIRFARE
Some of my friends have used this site to spot glitch fares (prices that may be listed in error on airline websites but must still be honored by the airline) and have flown around the world for practically pennies. The site also posts fares that meet their six cents per mile threshold from major cities in the United States.
Ever just want to hop on a plane and leave? You can! Just type in your nearest airport, enter your travel dates, and you can search destinations by fares.
HOTEL BOOKING
I also use Expedia a fair amount, but both websites are my go-to sites for booking package (air, hotel, car) deals, often last minute.
Mystery hotels aren’t for everyone, but I’ve been able to stay at 4 and 5 star hotels for as low as $22/night, so I have nothing but love for Hotwire.
APPS
A hotel booking app that can help you find the lowest rates based on your location.
A white noise app and alarm. Helpful for noisy flights or hotel rooms.
TRAVEL TIPS AND GUIDES
The ultimate travel review site (in my opinion)! I always check this place first when I want to visit a new city or resort. The compilation of honest reviews is incredibly helpful.
Have airline miles, but aren’t sure how to use them? FT is the place to visit and the forums are great for new frequent flyers.
